Species indentification
The identification of specific meat species in food or feed is an important control measure used to detect contamination by prohibited animal species in the final product. The identification is also performed to assure consumers that the meat and poultry they purchase is safe, wholesome, unadulterated and appropriately labelled.
PCR and ELISA Technologies manufacture a variety of meat species test kits that can detect and identify species content in cooked, raw and thermally processed meat, meat products and animal feeds.
